| Description | In an effort to develop well-rounded, highly trained dance performers, Dancer’s Ascent seeks to hire a highly accomplished acrobat coach for students ages 3-18 who have a broad range of tumbling and acrobat training from no training at all to advanced. In addition to experience, skill and education, the acrobat teacher should have an understanding and respect for competitive dance and team philosophy. Requirements: • USA gymnastics certified preferred • Experience competing at a collegiate level • Bachelor’s degree in physical education or exercise science preferred • Must have high energy • Responsible and dependable, including adherence to rigorous dance schedule • Excellent role model • Expects a high level of standards and respect and follows through on repercussions • Well prepared for class each week • Understands the importance for a high level of appropriateness in the classroom • Exercise the utmost level of safety and precaution • Willingness to teach gymnastics and acrobat history • Must be available to teach morning and evening classes and some Saturdays • Must be CPR certified within first 30 days of employment Job Description: • Work in collaboration with Creative Director to develop tumbling and conditioning curriculum • Attend all competitions and conventions as necessary • Facilitate the academic portion of summer intensives including terminology, history etc. • Research summer study opportunities for students as necessary • Monitor evaluate the progress of all students • Contribute to team member progress reports as needed • Works with team director to evaluate and place students in appropriate skill leveled classes which will complement other classes taken by the student • Explains and demonstrates technique and methods • Assist in enforcing Dancer Code of Conduct and Core Virtues |
