| Other Info | Our performers are all people-of-conscience who are committed to contributing to the local and global community. Beyond just creating impactful art, Art as Action contributors take a community-activist role. By taking on the dual roles of advocate and educator in addition to creative artist and entertainer, the organization and performers have tackled serious and difficult themes, such as the changing shape of the American family and violence against women. In addition to our seven full scale productions, Art as Action has brought artivism deeper into the community by donating a percentage of ticket sales and hundreds of complimentary tickets to local non-profits. In September 2011, we launched Dance for Parkinson's classes in Denver based on the Dance for PD® model originated by Mark Morris Dance and Brooklyn Parkinson Group. |
