The Denver Ballet Guild is a 30-year old, all-volunteer organization of over 600 members which supports and promotes all forms of dance. In addition to direct grants to Denver-area dance companies, the Guild hosts an annual Young Dancers Competition which gives scholarship funds to promising ballet dancers, holds a multi-day Showcase of Dance to introduce thousands of schoolchildren to different forms of dance and supports local dance companies’ outreach efforts through its School Programs. There are two youth groups which attend theatre, dance and cultural events: Les Cygnettes for 6th through 8th grade girls, and Les Demoiselles for 9th through 12th grade young ladies. The Ballet Guild’s signature event is Le Bal de Ballet, honoring debutantes and young men of distinction, which is held every year in June.
